To complement the care of our ob-gyn physicians and nurse practitioners, Virginia Women's Center has partnered  with Dr. Lisa Cuseo-Ott, a clinical psychologist in private practice. Dr. Cuseo-Ott will work individually with Virginia Women’s Center patients.

Dr. Cuseo-Ott specializes in women’s issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, menopause and perimenopause, parenting, stress management, and the role of sports psychology and fitness on health and well-being.

Dr. Cuseo-Ott was certified as a clinical psychologist by the Virginia Board of Psychology in 1993. She has been a member of the American Psychological Association since 1991. She received a Masters of Science in clinical psychology and later earned her Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University. She wrote her dissertation thesis on depression.

Dr. Cuseo-Ott graduated magnum cum laude from Brown University with a psychology major and French minor. She also studied French language, literature and art at New York University in France, in Paris.

Dr. Cuseo-Ott has been a licensed clinical psychologist in private group practice since 1993. Among other positions, she has also worked as a psychological consultant for the Department of Rehabilitative Services, a resource consultant for Commonwealth Parenting and a senior clinical psychologist at Central State Hospital.

 Dr. Cuseo-Ott is a lecturer and speaks on gender differences, child development, motherhood, working parents, stress and aging, among other topics. She is also the author of several publications and research papers.
