Marci Davis is a board-certified women's health nurse practitioner. She attended D’Youville College to earn a bachelor’s degree. She earned a master’s degree from Medical College of Virginia where she also completed her nursing and adult nurse practitioner preparation. She has a second master’s in counseling and education. She completed her Women’s health nurse practitioner preparation in a joint program with the Margaret Sanger Center and Downstate Medical College, in New York.

Prior to joining Virginia Women’s Center, Marci served as a graduate faculty member with Medical College of Virginia in the nurse practitioner program. She is currently an adjunct clinical assistant professor in the School of Nursing.

Marci is coeditor of Women’s Health: A Primary Care Clinical Guide now in its third edition. This book won three national awards and is used in graduate nursing programs across the country. Marci is also published in several nursing journals, and she has spoken to professional groups locally and nationally on clinical and research-based topics. In 1996, Marci was awarded the District IV Award of Excellence in Practice by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. Recently she co-authored an article published in Issues in Interdisciplinary Care, the official journal of the National Academies of Practice. The article, “Teaching Strategies Used by Experienced Preceptors,” is based on a research project she initiated and worked on at the VCU/MCV School of Nursing.

Marci and her husband enjoy outdoor adventures with daughter, including trips to Kings Dominion and scuba diving. For down time, Marci likes to walk her springer spaniel, and she participates in a neighborhood book club.
