Welcome to the Virginia Women’s Center difference: services that meet women where they are-at any age, at any stage-and all conveniently through Virginia Women's Center.

Gynecologic care
Ensuring good gynecologic health throughout your life—from the teen years to the post-menopausal years—is our specialty. Virginia Women’s Center is the first women’s medical practice in the area to establish an office dedicated solely to these needs—at John Rolfe Commons. Regardless of the location you choose, you can be sure that your physician or nurse practitioner is nothing short of an expert in your gynecologic health care. Visit My Health for information on the annual exam, vaccines and answers to frequently-asked questions.

Onsite labs
Routine blood tests shouldn't require the inconvenience of another stop. Each of our offices has an onsite lab. And you can be assured that your doctor or nurse will call you back with the results in a timely fashion.

Obstetric care
Whether you’re a first-time mother-to-be or experienced in pregnancy, your Virginia Women’s Center obstetrical team will be with you every step of the way. Over a nine-month pregnancy you, your physician and your nurse practitioner form an important bond. That’s why Virginia Women’s Center physicians make it a point to deliver their own patients, whenever possible. Additionally, your physician delivers only at the hospital adjacent to his or her office. In this way, physicians avoid delays that may keep you waiting. Visit My pregnancy to learn more.

Onsite maternal-fetal medicine
At Virginia Women’s Center, we think maternal-fetal medicine is so important that we have two specialists on staff. Drs. Troyer and Love see patients for high-risk pregnancy, prenatal diagnosis and advanced ultrasound diagnosis. Our ultrasound suites are AIUM accredited. Visit My Pregnancy to learn more.

Mammography
The Virginia Women’s Center mammography suite at John Rolfe Commons is a digital screening facility. We see patients for annual screening mammograms. Dr. Ellen Shaw de Paredes and her staff of breast imagers handle imaging interpretation for all Virginia Women’s Center patients. Your mammogram will always be performed by a registered mammography technologist. Visit My Health.

Incontinence treatment/Female urology
The Virginia Women's Continence Center, an on-site division of Virginia Women's Center, offers state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment of female urology issues, from incontinence to chronic infections. Visit My Bladder.

Clinical trials
Clinical research is a vital aspect of medicine today. Virginia Women's Center patients have a special opportunity to be a part of treatments that shape the treatments of tomorrow while receiving exams, diagnostic tests and physician advice at no cost. Visit Clinical Research Studies.

Osteoporosis detection and treatment
Bone-density testing is an important aspect of preventing osteoporosis. We use a technology called Dual-energy Absorptiometry-or DEXA-to measure bone mineral content and density of specific bone sites most susceptible to fracture.

Registered Dietitian
Our onsite registered dietitians can address any number of nutritional and dietary conditions: sports nutrition, nutrition during/after pregnancy and healthy weight management. We also have expertise with situations such as diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, hypertension and cardiovascular disease, among others.

Clinical psychologist
Our onsite clinical psychologist is available to help with the challenges of depression, stress management, anxiety, eating disorders, post-partum depression, parenting, perimenopause, menopause and more.
