Help for overactive bladder is here

Nancy couldn’t make it into the house from the car with the groceries. Judith was up all hours of the night, unable to sleep because she kept having to go to the bathroom. The culprit? Overactive bladder. In the case of these women, both patients of the Virginia Women’s Continence Center, it’s urge incontinence—a persistent physical urge to urinate often without warning and an inability to stop it.

Nancy and Judith admit it’s something they’ve dealt with all of their adult lives. Their doctors have prescribed dietary changes, behavioral recommendations and medications, all with limited results. However a new treatment offered by Dr. Lonny Green with the continence center at Virginia Women’s Center has made a difference. That new treatment is called PTNS, which stands for percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation. Over 12 weeks, a series of 30-minute sessions deliver a small burst of electrical stimulation to the nerve that controls the bladder. Nancy and Judith recommend it without reservation. It has changed their lives. Could it be right for you? Click here to learn more.
